مُرَكَّبَ تَوْصِيْفِيٌّ

مُرَكَّبَ تَوْصِيْفِيٌّ is a phrase in which one إِسْمٌ describes the other. For example in English we can say big car, small house etc. Describing word in English is called an Adjective. In Arabic it falls under the umbrella of an إِسْمٌ.

The describing إِسْمٌ (e.g. big, small etc) is called the صِفَةٌ (plural صِفَات).

The إِسْمٌ being described (e.g. car, house) is called the مَوْصُوْفٌ.

Rules

Rules to form the مُرَكَّبَ تَوْصِيْفِيٌّ:

1. صِفَةٌ must come after the مَوْصُوْفٌ.

2. صِفَةٌ should have the same إِسْمٌ properties ( إِعْرابٌ , قَسْمٌ , عَدَدٌ ,جِنْسٌ) as the مَوْصُوْفٌ.

3. There can be multiple صِفَات.

4. There can only be one مَوْصُوْفٌ.

5. Can tolerate a long distance relationship, so words may come between the مَوْصُوْفٌ and the صِفَةٌ.
