Introduction

مُرَكَّبٌ (Compound) is a group of words of which there are two types:

  1. مُرَكَّبٌ مُفِيْدٌ : This is a complete sentence.
  2. مُرَكَّبٌ غَيْرٌ مُفِيْدٌ : This is an incomplete sentence i.e. a phrase. It is often called مُرَكَّبٌ نَآقِصٌ

From hereon, when we use the word ‘sentence’ we will be referring to complete sentences, and when we use the word ‘phrase’ we will be referring to incomplete sentences.

In this module we will explore the Phrases that involve إِسْمٌ i.e. مُرَكَّبٌ نَآقِصٌ, of which there are the following:

  1. مُرَكَّبٌ جَارِّيٌّ
  2. مُرَكَّبٌ نَاصِبِيٌّ
  3. مُرَكَّبٌ تَوْصِيْفِيٌّ
  4. مُرَكَّبٌ إِشَرِيٌّ
  5. مُرَكَّبٌ إِضَافِيٌّ
  6. مُرَكَّبٌ تَوْصِيْفِيٌّ
  7. مُرَكَّبٌ مَنْعُ
  8. مُرَكَّبٌ بِنَائِيٌّ

إِسْمٌ [Ism] refers to a person, place, thing, idea, adjective and adverb.

Examples:

  • Person: “رَجُلٌ” (a man)
  • Place: “مَدْرَسَةٌ” (a school)
  • Thing: “كِتَابٌ” (a book)
  • Idea: “عَدَالَةٌ” (justice)
  • Adjective: “كَبِيرٌ” (big)
  • Adverb: “سَرِيعًا” (quickly)
