مُرَكَّبٌ بِنَائِيٌّ
مُرَكَّبٌ بِنَائِيٌّ is a phrase in which two numerals are joined to form a single word (number).
Rule:
1. A حَرْفٌ originally linked two numbers.
Example: أَحَدَ عَشَرَ (eleven) was originally أَحَدٌ وَ عَشَرٌ
This phrase is found only in numbers 11-19. أَحَدَ عَشَرَ, إِثْنَا عَشَرَ, ثَلَاثَ عَشَرَ, ….. تِسْعَ عَشَرَ
2. Both parts of this phrase will always be مَفْتُوْحٌ except the number 12 (إِثْنَا عَشَرَ).
Example for رَفْعٌ state:
جَاءَ أَحَدَ عَشَرَ رَجُلًا
Eleven men came
No change to phrase despite in رَفْعٌ
Example for نَصْبٌ state:
رَأَيْتُ أَحَدَ عَشَرَ رَجُلًا
I saw eleven men
No change to phrase despite in نَصْبٌ.
Example for جَرٌّ state:
مَرَرْتُ بِأَحَدَ عَشَرَ رَجُلًا
I passed by eleven men
No change to phrase despite in جَرٌّ.
3. As for number 12 (إِثْنَا عَشَرَ), its second part is always مَفْتُوْحٌ, while the first part changes إِعْرَابٌ:
- In رَفْعٌ it is written as إِثْنَا عَشَرَ with an ا at the end of the first part.
- In نَصْبٌ and جَرٌّ, it is written as إِثْنَيْ عَشَرَ with ي in place of the ا.
Example for رَفْعٌ state :
جَاءَ إِثْنَا عَشَرَ رَجُلًا
Twelve men came
First part changed due to رَفْعٌ.
Example for نَصْبٌ state:
رَأَيْتُ إِثْنَيْ عَشَرَ رَجُلًا
I saw twelve men
First part changed due to نَصْبٌ.
Example for جَرٌّ state:
مَرَرْتُ بِإِثْنَيْ عَشَرَ رَجُلًا
I passed by twelve men
First part changed due to جَرٌّ.
