Examples of جُمْلَةِ فِعْلِيَّةِ

In this lesson we will take examples from سُورَةُ الْمُلْكِ

Example 1:

خَلَقَ الْمَوْتَ وَالْحَيَاةَ

He created death and life [67:1]

Grammatical AnalysisMeaning
فِعْلٌ ماضٍ with the doer being the inside pronoun (ضَمَيْرٌ مُسْتَتِرٌ) he (هُوَ)He createdخَلَقَ
مَفْعُوْلٌ بِهَdeath and lifeالْمَوْتَ وَالْحَيَاةَ

Example 2:

سَأَلَهُمْ خَزَنَتُهَا

Its keepers asked them [67:8]

Grammatical AnalysisMeaning
فِعْلٌ ماضٍ askedسَأَلَ
مَفْعُوْلٌ بِهَthemهُمْ
outside فَاعِلٌits keepersخَزَنَتُهَا

Notice that in this example the outside doer is not directly after the فِعْلٌ. The مَفْعُوْلٌ ( i.e. the هُمْ) came first.

Example 3:

فَكَذَّبْنَا

But we denied [67:9]
