Examples of جُمْلَةِ فِعْلِيَّةِ

In this lesson we will take examples from سُورَةُ الْمُلْكِ

Example 1:

خَلَقَ الْمَوْتَ وَالْحَيَاةَ

He created death and life [67:1]

Grammatical Analysis	Meaning
فِعْلٌ ماضٍ with the doer being the inside pronoun (ضَمَيْرٌ مُسْتَتِرٌ) he (هُوَ)	He created	خَلَقَ
مَفْعُوْلٌ بِهَ	death and life	الْمَوْتَ وَالْحَيَاةَ

Example 2:

سَأَلَهُمْ خَزَنَتُهَا

Its keepers asked them [67:8]

Grammatical Analysis	Meaning
فِعْلٌ ماضٍ	asked	سَأَلَ
مَفْعُوْلٌ بِهَ	them	هُمْ
outside فَاعِلٌ	its keepers	خَزَنَتُهَا

Notice that in this example the outside doer is not directly after the فِعْلٌ. The مَفْعُوْلٌ ( i.e. the هُمْ) came first.

Example 3:

فَكَذَّبْنَا

But we denied [67:9]

Grammatical Analysis	Meaning
حَرْفٌ	But	فَ
فِعْلٌ ماضٍ with the doer being the inside pronoun (ضَمَيْرٌ مُسْتَتِرٌ) we (نَحْنُ)	we denied	كَذَّبْنَا

Example 4:

أَصْبَحَ مَا ؤُكُمْ غَوْرًا

Your water became absorbed [67:30]

Grammatical Analysis	Meaning
فِعْلٌ	became	أَصْبَحَ
مَا ؤُكُمْ forms an الإِضَافَة and is the outside فَاعِلٌ	Your water	مَا ؤُكُمْ
مَفْعُوْلٌ	absorbed	غَوْرًا
